access Gmail, gmail down get your mail

so you still can get gmail's content if you have setup imap or pop access. First you need to launch your favorite email application, I use evolution from there use the following settings.

incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com use ssl, port 993
outgoing mail server : smtp.gmail.com use authentication port 465 or 587
account name: your full email address ie whoever@gmail.com
email address: your gmail email address ie whoever@gmail.com
password: your gmail password

that's all you need to do, and you will be able to fetch a live copy of your gmail.
